Start with the pricing model
An account name tells you very little about the total cost of a trade. Start by separating the spread, which is the difference between buying and selling prices, from any commission charged for placing the trade. Then check overnight charges, execution conditions and other costs.
Exness lists Standard, Pro, Raw Spread and Zero accounts on its main account pages. Availability and the final terms depend on your circumstances. This guide is an overview, not a recommendation of a particular account.
Compare the main accounts
| Account | Pricing structure | Question to ask |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | Spread; no trading commission | What is the typical spread on my instrument? |
| Pro | Spread; no trading commission | Which execution conditions apply? |
| Raw Spread | Spread plus commission | What is the full round-trip cost? |
| Zero | Instrument-specific spread and commission | When do advertised spread conditions apply? |
No commission does not mean no cost. A spread, overnight charge or other applicable fee may still affect your result. Compare the complete terms for the exact instrument and position size.
Standard
Standard uses spread-based pricing without a separate trading commission. Review the symbol specification and typical spread, rather than treating an advertised starting spread as the cost of every trade.
Pro
Pro is part of Exness’s professional account range. It also has no separate trading commission. Examine the execution terms as well as the spread; a professional label is not a measure of safety or suitability.
Raw Spread
Raw Spread separates a trading commission from the spread. Add both sides of the commission when estimating the cost of opening and closing a position. A smaller spread alone does not tell you whether the trade is cheaper overall.
Zero
Zero has spread conditions that depend on the instrument and applicable terms, together with commission. The name does not mean every trade is free, or that a spread is always zero. Check the conditions for the symbol you intend to trade.
What to check before funding
- The minimum required for your selected account and payment method.
- The total cost for the instrument, trade size and likely holding period.
- Available platforms and the correct account-server combination.
- Leverage, margin, stop-out rules and how quickly losses can occur.
- The contracting company and the terms that apply to you.
If you are still learning the platform, read the demo account guide. Virtual practice can improve familiarity with the controls, but it does not establish that live trading is suitable for you.
